What you will learn

QiGong is a practice to harmonise your body and mind that is rooted in Chinese medicine, philosophy and martial arts that combines these three elements:

  • Moving:        slow, gentle and fluid movement that we will co-ordinate with
  • Breathing:    oxygenating and revitalising our  body in relaxed standing posture
  • Visualising:  nurturing the strength of our mind to connect and balance our internal with our external world.

QiGong does not involve remembering sequences of movements and is gentle and meditative like Tai-Chi.  Please note that this is NOT an exercise class to lose weight, tone up, or gain muscle!  The Art of QiGong is designed to strengthen your positive imagining and your creativity and reduce mental and physical tensions.

What you will need:

  • wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely
  • art materials that you would normally use which could be felt tips, water colour, acrylics, colouring pencils, mixed media, etc.

Whatever your chosen medium, we will guide you to develop your creative arts practice and find your grounding.

This course is co-delivered by Arty-Folks artists and members with lived experience.
