PAINTING FOR PLEASURE – online daytime course

a free 6-week online course for adults who are struggling with stress, anxiety and depression and who are looking to develop painting with acrylics as a hobby.  To enrol you must be 18+ and living in Warwickshire.

Level of difficulty: Beginners and Intermediate

What you will learn:

  • each week a new project that will improve your painting skills and confidence to mix a wide range of hues using just primary colours
  • apply paint to achieve effects most suited to your painting
  • create compelling designs and compositions
  • and most of all – enjoy being creative with other like-minded people in a safe environment

For this course you will need the following materials:

  • single sheets of white paper
  • acrylic paint: white, yellow, alizarin or crimson red, coeruleum blue.  You can get very cheaply a set of basic paints from many suppliers like the Works, the Range, etc.
  • pencil, rubber, sharpener
  • palette, i.e. a non-absorbing surface like a tupper ware lid or a plastic plate
  • water pot
  • tissue
  • PVA glue
  • good Internet connection/Wifi
  • Zoom app on mobile or laptop/PC with video and microphone

Art materials we will post to you after the 1st workshop:

  • sketchbook
  • two brushes
