A Passion for Plants – online evening course for adults in employment
a free 6-week online evening course for adults who want to learn about botanical art and explore painting with acrylics. To enrol you must be 18+ and living or working in Warwickshire.
Level of difficulty: Improvers. Some previous experience of mixing different shades using primary colours is required.

Art Materials:
After the 1st workshop we will post an art pack to you with art materials for this course but you will additionally need to buy just 4 acrylic paints:
white, cadmium yellow, magenta or alizarin, and coeruleum blue
You will learn:
Inspired by Victorian Botanical Artists and artist Georgia O’Keefe you will learn to use your passion for plants to express yourself. This is quite a fast-paced course focusing on colour with a different project each week, including
- art history: the life and art of botanical artists and artist Georgia O’Keefe
- colour theory and mixing a wide range of hues
- collaging and layering to understand how colours change with environments
- application and blending techniques
- to enjoy painting through your own uniqueness and to trust the creative process
Art for Wellbeing Warwickshire is a programme of workshops and courses for adults with low to moderate mental health needs commissioned by Warwickshire County Council.
