Tracy – Hand on Heart
Two chambers, two sides, negative and positive, destruction/construction, poison and cure.
With this sculpture I was initially looking at anatomical drawings of the heart showing the chambers and plan set colours.

Blue depicts the chamber that dealt with the blood that was low on oxygen. I interpreted this as the side of depletion, of having taken away, of being used up/misused. Therefore the other side should be healing, strengthening, making well, and improvement.
As the sculpture lives to be 3D I decided that each aspect should be on opposite sides and the sculpture notion. Human side by side, the sculpture should look like a mirror, or as though it is being created.
The opposite side should be more architectural as though being built, under construction almost labyrinthine.
For the negative side I stayed with the original blue, and for the other/positive side I chose yellows and greens.
The figures represent the impact of all those that I have interacted with and the effects that they have had on me, whether positive or negative. Some small and the most influential people the larger figures.
All of the impacts are within the heart.
