What You’ll Learn

This fast-paced course is inspired by botanical artists throughout history and the vibrant work of modern artist Georgia O’Keeffe.  We will focus on colour, light, and personal expression and tackle a new project each week to learn:

  • Colour theory and how to extend our colour range
  • Light and layering techniques to explore how colours change and are affected by different environments
  • Application and blending techniques to create smooth transitions in your work
  • How to enjoy painting through your own unique style and trust the creative process

"So interesting to hear about botanical artists in history and how they lived their lives. Tutors explained tasks really well and I enjoyed watching them paint along with us."
