Painting for Pleasure is a 6-week online painting course designed for adults experiencing stress, anxiety, or depression who are looking to develop acrylic painting as a hobby.

This course is perfect for both beginners and intermediate painters seeking a creative outlet to boost their mental wellbeing.

Every week you will learn a new skill and complete a different project that will help you:

  • Build confidence in mixing a wide range of hues using just primary colours
  • Apply paint techniques to create various effects suited to your artwork
  • Develop compelling designs and compositions
  • Most importantly, enjoy being creative in a safe, supportive space with like-minded individuals

Materials You Will Need

  • sketchbook suitable for painting (pages need to be 120-150gsm)
  • Single sheets of white printer paper
  • Acrylic paint: white, cadmium yellow, alizarin or crimson red, cerulean blue.  Please make sure you buy colours that match these descriptions!
  • Pencil, eraser, sharpener
  • Palette (e.g., a non-absorbing surface like a Tupperware lid or plastic plate)
  • Water pot, Tissues, hog brushes
  • PVA glue
  • Good internet connection/Wifi
  • Zoom app on mobile, laptop, or PC with video and microphone
