Fine Art to Wellbeing

Self-Healing through your Arts Practice

Fine Art to Wellbeing is an advanced 3-week course that follows on from Art for Relaxation.  We will guide you through three different art activities that are designed to nurture personal growth, promote insight and self-understanding.

Materials You Will Need

  • Mobile or laptop/PC with video and microphone
  • Sheets of white A4 paper
  • Pencil, eraser, scissors
  • Coloured pencils / felt-tip pens / markers / highlighters, anything to colour
  • Newspaper and/or magazine
  • Glue (preferably a glue stick)
  • A comfortable, undisturbed workspace

What You Will Learn

Each week, you will explore different self-development themes and creative techniques to support your journey. Through drawing, collage, mapping, and other expressive methods, you’ll learn to:

  • Apply creative techniques to look at challenges from a fresh perspective
  • Delve into self-development themes to better understand your own thoughts and feelings
  • Express yourself without pressure and develop confidence in the creative process

This is a practical course led by Arty-Folks staff with lived experience of mental health difficulties and the creative journey to self-healing.

We often think of creativity as a process of making something new and original, yet its root meaning is “to grow.”
