Hats Off! in Rugby

Arty-Folks has teamed up with Tealeaf Tales and we are inviting EVERYONE in Rugby to create sculptural head-wear inspired by the Queen’s love of hats.

Yes, this is to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and you might want to be wearing your funky creation at street parties on the Jubilee weekend 2-5 June , but that’s up to you of course!  Your hat will be yours to take home but we are also hoping to exhibit and show them off at the Rugby Art Gallery&Museum.

This is a short 3-week project led by local artists Shiam and Kate for adults 18+ who are keen to learn new skills and have a laugh with a group of like-minded crafty people.

The workshops are suitable for all abilities!  You can upcycle one of our funky hats or you can bring your own to decorate and we will provide all materials FREE.  We will be using fabrics, feathers, lots of exciting materials, and we will show you very easy sewing techniques or you can just use glue.

Course Dates:
Tuesday 17th May, 10.15am-12.30pm
Tuesday 24th May, 10.15am-12.30pm
Tuesday 31st May, 10.15am-12.30pm

Workshops will take place in the workshop room upstairs at the Rugby Art Gallery and Museum and we will be there to greet you at the entrance.

If these dates are not convenient for you but you are still keen to take part contact Kate on 07816 575 156 as they are running further making sessions at the Caribbean Club and at Benn Partnership.
