For our Creative Arts on Referral Graduates we are now holding Monthly Arty Meet-Ups every last Sunday evening of the month.  The purpose of these workshops is to connect and share skills with other creatives and help each other to keep our own arts practice fresh and vibrant.

It’s our very first Arty Meet-Up and we are so proud to introduce you to the artist MARY COURTNEY.

Coventry born and based award-winning artist and poet is inspired by the city, science, stories, the ambiguous and the deliciously ridiculous. She recently made a drawing the size of two and a half blue whales, turning the ingredients of the Periodic Table into characters. She makes stuff with social comment too – about library cuts, plastic, poor pay for carers….the dark, light and colours of life….  Mary is currently working on a giant hand-made picture book revealing strange and unusual routes to explore the city…

TO COVENTRY….
By trunk, by tree, by brute, by blue, by sea,
by one, by sun, by demon, by tongue….

In this workshop, Mary will inspire and amuse you through her own arts practice.  She will lead a 30minute activity to show us how she combines visual and verbal imagery for fun, for inspiration, for adventure.  You only need a pencil, black marker or pen and perhaps a book you don’t really want to read anymore, but it’s not essential.

Bring&Share.  What are you working on right now?  How’s it going?  Do you want to ask anyone in the group for tips and tricks?  Perhaps you are crocheting, upcycling, cooking, drawing, using your smart phone… how are you using your creativity?
And there will be plenty of time to chat, exchange creative tips, and have a laugh!

This is a Zoom workshop and you will receive the link on registration.
Please check your spam/ junk folder if you do not receive the email in your inbox.
